New Heights Chapel's music program is blended – while we love the rich history of hymns, we recognize that today’s songwriters write and sing about the same God in ways that appeal to a contemporary audience. We’re not about performance; our congregation becomes a choir as we honor God with our musical worship. A typical Sunday morning will have us singing a variety of music using many instruments. We might sing a contemporary hymn with piano only, and a classic gospel song with guitars and drums.
We use dual projection screens and pictures / graphics / video to underscore the meaning of what we're singing or the message we're hearing. It is not our goal to entertain or visually enthrall an audience. We want to engage all of every person - body, mind, spirit, emotions - in worshipping God.
Our music team is made up of people with musical talents, either vocally or instrumentally, who take turns playing on an informal rotation. If you would like to get involved even occasionally, please get in touch. Currently we do not hold auditions, but will be honest if a music ministry doesn't appear to be the perfect fit for you! The only other expectations are that you know Christ as Savior and are seeking to live your life for Him and that you have committed yourself to this local church.
